Privacy
This notice explains how data is processed when you visit ViennaDesign.com and use the interactive Wallace fountain map.

The controller responsible for this website is Alexander Schlögl, ViennaDesign.com, Ybbsstraße 44/25, 1020 Vienna, Austria. You can contact us at office@viennadesign.com or by telephone on +43 664 183 86 03.
Delivering the website
When you request a web page, your IP address and technical request information are transmitted to the server delivering it. This processing makes the website available and helps keep it secure. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a functional and secure website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
This website is hosted by abaton EDV-Dienstleistungs GmbH, Conrad-von-Hötzendorf-Straße 165, 8010 Graz, Austria.
In its privacy policy, the hosting provider describes logging IP addresses, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, requested page, and access date and time. It states that these logs are used for statistical analysis and to investigate specific indications of unlawful use. According to the provider, logs are rotated and overwritten when they reach a certain size; it does not specify a fixed retention period for them.
Local resources and colour preference
Fonts, icons, website design images and software libraries are loaded from this website’s server. The external map images are an exception: they are requested only after you enable the Wallace map.
If you change the colour mode, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under the key “viennadesign-theme”. Our application does not transmit this value to the server. It is used only to retain your chosen appearance and remains stored until you change it or clear the website data in your browser. It is not used to create a personal usage profile.
Interactive Wallace map
The Wallace map uses locally hosted Leaflet software and an included fountain dataset. Search and filter inputs are processed within the application in your browser; our application does not send search terms to a search service. It does not include device geolocation.
Map images are requested from the OpenStreetMap Foundation, United Kingdom, through tile.openstreetmap.org only after you select “Load map”. These requests transmit your IP address, the requested map areas and technical connection data. Depending on your browser and settings, this also includes browser information and the referring address. Moving or zooming the map may request further map images.
The legal basis for loading the external map images is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Permission lasts until you reload or leave the page. You can withdraw it at any time by selecting “Disable map”, which prevents further map image requests. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. Without enabling the map, you can search and filter the fountain list and read addresses and details. The geographical map view loads only after you give your consent.
OpenStreetMap uses a worldwide network to deliver map images. Processing is therefore not restricted to servers in Austria or the European Union. Information about processing by the OpenStreetMap Foundation and its service providers is available in its privacy policy.
Contacting us
If you contact us by email or telephone, we process the information you provide to handle your enquiry. For enquiries about an assignment or potential engagement, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. We retain this information for as long as it is needed to handle your enquiry and, where applicable, work with you. Further retention may be necessary to meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. The data is then deleted unless another legal basis permits its continued retention.
